The Economy Advertising Company, located in Iowa City, Iowa, is a historic site notable for its connection to John Towner Frederick and his influential literary magazine, The Midland. Founded in 1915, The Midland showcased regional literature from the Midwest, providing a platform for writers often overlooked by major eastern publications. Economy Advertising was instrumental in the magazine's production and financial support, and Frederick, a former apprentice there, later became a pioneer in American literature education at the University of Iowa.
