Colthup's House

Colthup's House, located at 109 Limestone Street in Ipswich, Queensland, is a heritage-listed property built around 1880 by architect John Farrelly. This two-storey brick house is notable for its historical significance, showcasing the suburban development of Ipswich during the late 19th century. Constructed from recycled materials salvaged from a fire, it exemplifies the architectural style of the era and remains one of the most intact examples of Farrelly's work. Visitors can admire its original features, including Gothic arches, colored glass windows, and spacious verandahs. The house was added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 1992, reflecting its importance in Queensland's history and architecture.
