Howard Theatre - Historic Black performance venue

The Howard Theatre, which opened in 1910, is a historic performance venue on the U Street–Cardozo corridor that became a major booking site for African American entertainers during the 20th century. Prominent artists who performed there include Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and Marvin Gaye. The theater was restored and reopened in the 21st century and continues to host concerts and cultural events.
