Ritz Theatre & Museum (historic 1929 performance venue)

The Ritz Theatre & Museum at 829 North Davis Street opened in 1929 and is one of Jacksonville's surviving early 20th-century theaters, originally built as a neighborhood movie palace and performance venue. It later became an important cultural center for the African-American community and was restored beginning in the late 20th century to serve as a performing arts venue and museum. The building's preservation and continued public use illustrate adaptive reuse of historic entertainment infrastructure in Jacksonville.
