Menger Hotel

The Menger Hotel opened in 1859 adjacent to the Alamo and has operated continuously since the 19th century. The hotel's bar contains period furnishings and the property claims a historical association with Theodore Roosevelt, who is said to have recruited Rough Riders there in 1898. The Menger is part of the historic Alamo Plaza area and is frequently noted for its Victorian-era architecture and interiors.
