Hair Conrad Cabin

The Hair Conrad Cabin, located in Bradley County, Tennessee, is the oldest residential structure in the area, dating back to the early 1800s. Built by a Cherokee leader known as Hair Conrad, the cabin reflects the architectural style of early white settlers. Hair Conrad, who had a mixed heritage, was influential in the Cherokee community, founding a school for Cherokee children and contributing to the Cherokee Constitution. He also played a significant role in the Trail of Tears. After his departure, the cabin changed hands several times and is now part of Blythewood Farms. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in Cherokee history and early American settlement.
