Joe Louis Arena - former Red Wings home

Joe Louis Arena opened in 1979 and served as the home arena for the NHL's Detroit Red Wings from 1979 until 2017. The arena hosted numerous playoff runs, concerts, and local events during its decades of operation. After the Red Wings moved to Little Caesars Arena, Joe Louis Arena was closed and subsequently demolished in 2020 as part of downtown redevelopment efforts.
