Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum

Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is housed in the former Andrew Carnegie Mansion on Manhattan's Upper East Side and is the United States' museum devoted exclusively to historical and contemporary design. The museum underwent a major renovation and reopened in December 2014 with new permanent galleries and interactive visitor technologies. As part of the Smithsonian Institution, Cooper Hewitt maintains a national design collection and presents rotating exhibitions, educational programs, and research initiatives.
