Berclair Mansion

The Berclair Mansion, built in 1936 in Berclair, Texas, is a remarkable 22-room structure spanning 10,000 square feet, making it the largest steel strand house in the United States. Constructed with over 60 tons of concrete and steel, it was commissioned by Etta Terrell, who lived there with her four sisters. The mansion was designed to be fireproof, inspired by Etta's childhood experience of losing her home to a fire. It features original furnishings from around the world and items from Etta's family home. The mansion is owned by the Beeville Art Association and offers tours on the last Sunday of each month. Additionally, it is reputed to be haunted, attracting interest from ghost hunting organizations.
