Penders (holiday retreat)

Penders is a heritage-listed holiday retreat located within Mimosa Rocks National Park in New South Wales, Australia. Designed by renowned architect Roy Grounds and built between 1964 and 1980, this retreat is known for its stunning natural beauty, featuring a 1.6-kilometer coastline along the Pacific Ocean and proximity to Bithry Inlet. The site has significant historical importance, with evidence of Aboriginal occupation dating back over 40,000 years, particularly by the Dyiringanj clan of the Yuin people. Visitors can explore the rich Indigenous history, the unique coastal ecosystems, and the architectural legacy of Grounds and his partner Kenneth Myer, who transformed the area into a serene getaway.
