Richfield Coliseum

Richfield Coliseum, located in Richfield Township, Ohio, was an iconic indoor arena that opened in 1974 and served as the main venue for sports and entertainment in Northeast Ohio until 1994. With a seating capacity of over 20,000 for basketball, it was home to the Cleveland Cavaliers and hosted notable events such as the 1981 NBA All-Star Game and a famous boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner. The arena also featured concerts from legends like Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder. After closing in 1994, it stood vacant until its demolition in 1999, and the site has since been transformed into a meadow within Cuyahoga Valley National Park, attracting wildlife and birdwatchers alike.
