Wildcroft Manor

Wildcroft Manor, located in Putney, London, is a historic site known for its unique architectural history and Grade II Listed iron gateway. Originally built in 1776 by politician David Hartley, it was designed as an experimental fireproof house. The manor later became the residence of publisher George Newnes, who rebuilt it in 1877. The site features Art Deco buildings from the 1930s and is marked by a commemorative obelisk. Notably, it was damaged during WWII by a V1 flying bomb, and has connections to various notable figures, including entertainer Ian Whitcomb.
