Japanese Friendship Garden (Balboa Park)

The Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park, also known as Seiwa-en, was established as a sister-city project with Yokohama and opened in phases beginning in 1990. The garden features traditional Japanese landscaping, koi ponds, tea houses, and cultural programming that reflect San Diego's relationship with its Japanese sister city.
