Memorial Hall (Please Touch Museum)

Memorial Hall was constructed for the 1876 Centennial Exposition and is one of the principal surviving buildings from that fair. The Beaux-Arts/Renaissance-style structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and since 2008 has housed the Please Touch Museum, a children's museum that adapts the historic interior and surrounding park landscape for interactive exhibits and education. Memorial Hall's survival and reuse exemplify Philadelphia's preservation of Centennial-era architecture.
