Old State House reported hauntings

The Old State House, built in 1713 and site of colonial government, has long featured in local ghost tours and accounts of unexplained phenomena, including reports of cold spots, phantom footsteps, and alleged sightings of colonial-era figures. The building sits atop the site near the 1770 Boston Massacre and is one of the city's oldest public buildings open to the public. Reports of hauntings have appeared in newspapers and guidebooks but remain anecdotal and debated by historians. The Old State House is now a museum operated by the Bostonian Society.
