Duwamish Longhouse and nearby Duwamish River archaeological sites

The Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center is located near historically documented Duwamish village sites along the Duwamish River; state and academic archaeological surveys of the Duwamish Valley have recorded shell middens, habitation sites, and artifact scatters associated with Coast Salish occupation. The Longhouse participates in cultural stewardship, public education, and consultation related to archaeological resources and repatriation. Multiple recorded archaeological sites in the Duwamish River corridor are cited in Washington state site inventories and cultural resource studies.
