Bechtler Museum of Modern Art - Mario Botta design

The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta, opened in Charlotte in 2010 to house the Bechtler family's collection of mid-20th-century modern art. The collection includes works by artists such as Alberto Giacometti and Pablo Picasso. The building's tan brick cylinder and dramatic interior atrium are noted locally as a distinctive example of contemporary museum architecture.
