Richard's Club

Richard's Club was a historic nightclub and music venue located in Lawtell, Louisiana, opened in 1947 by Eddie Richard. It became a key stop on the Southern Chitlin' Circuit and was renowned for its zydeco music, often compared to the Grand Ole Opry. The club featured a rustic atmosphere with low ceilings and wooden floors, hosting notable performers like Clifton Chenier and Boozoo Chavis. After closing in 2006 due to family disputes, it briefly reopened as Zydeco Hall of Fame before being destroyed by arson in 2017. Richard's Club remains a significant part of Louisiana's musical heritage.
