Old Shephard Farm

The Old Shephard Farm, located at 1832 Washington Street in Newton, Massachusetts, is a historic farmhouse dating back to around 1740, built by early settler Alexander Sheperd. This expansive house has undergone numerous enlargements, culminating in a structure featuring a main block and three ells by the late 19th century. In 1952, the oldest section of the house was converted into a separate residence, now known as 1832 Washington. The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and underwent significant renovations in 2013–14, making it a noteworthy site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and history.
