National Museum of the American Indian (Mall building)

The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian's Mall building opened in 2004 and was designed by architect Douglas Cardinal. The museum's collections include Native North, Central, and South American objects, photographs, and contemporary art documenting Indigenous histories and cultures. It presents rotating exhibitions, educational programs, and a Native-led performance and events schedule.
