Mapparium at the Mary Baker Eddy Library

The Mapparium is a three-story stained-glass globe constructed in 1935 and installed in the Mary Baker Eddy Library. Visitors walk along a catwalk inside the globe to view a mid-1930s world map and to experience pronounced acoustic effects, including a whispering-gallery phenomenon. The exhibit presents historical geopolitical boundaries from the 1930s and is open to the public by scheduled tours.
