The Fort Worth Stockyards Historic District preserves the city's early-20th-century cattle industry with brick streets, stock pens, and commercial buildings linked to livestock trading. Stockyards Station on East Exchange Avenue serves as a focal point for visitors and performers; the Fort Worth Herd conducts twice-daily longhorn cattle drives down Exchange Avenue as a living-history demonstration of the city's cattle-drive heritage. The Stockyards remain one of the most intact examples of a historic livestock market district in Texas.
