National Bonsai & Penjing Museum - living landscape installations

The National Bonsai & Penjing Museum at the U.S. National Arboretum maintains a permanent installation of outdoor display courts and indoor pavilions exhibiting historic bonsai and penjing specimens, some of which have been cultivated for decades and are designated living national treasures. The museum’s layout includes formal display areas, demonstration spaces, and interpretive signage to present Asian miniature landscape traditions as horticultural installations.
