Second Bank of the United States (Greek Revival landmark)

Designed by William Strickland in the Greek Revival style and constructed between 1818 and 1824, the Second Bank of the United States served as the Philadelphia branch of the national bank. Its classical marble façade and columned portico were influential in popularizing Greek Revival architecture across the United States. The building sits on Chestnut Street across from Independence Hall and is preserved as part of Independence National Historical Park.
