Kinchega Woolshed

Kinchega Woolshed, located 15 km south-west of Menindee in New South Wales, is a heritage-listed former shearing shed built in 1875. It played a significant role in the pastoral history of the region, once accommodating up to 160,000 sheep and employing numerous workers. The woolshed showcases the evolution of shearing technology, featuring original steam-powered machinery and later electrical equipment. Its notable design includes a large timber structure with sweating pens, making it a prominent landmark in the arid landscape. Restored in 1993, it is now part of Kinchega National Park and serves as a testament to the cultural heritage of Australia's wool industry.
