George Markell Farmstead

The George Markell Farmstead, also known as Arcadian Dairy Farm, is a historic site in Frederick, Maryland, featuring a brick house from around 1865, various outbuildings, and a large barn. This farmstead showcases a blend of Greek Revival and Italianate architecture and played a significant role during the Civil War, serving as a route for Confederate troops to the Battle of Monocacy. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, it offers a glimpse into 19th-century agricultural life and its historical significance.
