Building of the Chernihiv Regional Youth Center

The Building of the Chernihiv Regional Youth Center, originally known as Shchors cinema, is a significant architectural monument located in Chernihiv, Ukraine. Constructed in 1939, it was once the city's premier cinema and has served various cultural functions over the decades. The building features a striking L-shaped design with a prominent 10-column portico and decorative pilasters. After being damaged during World War II, it was rebuilt and underwent several renovations, including the addition of auditoriums for concerts and events. In 2017, it transitioned to serve as the Chernihiv Regional Youth Center. Unfortunately, the building suffered severe damage during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, marking a poignant chapter in its history. The site is part of the architectural ensemble of Red Square, making it a notable stop for tourists and researchers interested in the region's cultural heritage.
