Goll Homestead

The Goll Homestead is a historic farm complex located in Fulton County, Ohio, recognized for its significance in the region's settlement history. Established by French immigrants Peter Goll, Sr. and Catherine in 1836, the site features a unique white wooden house built using traditional European timber construction methods, accommodating multiple generations of the Goll family. The accompanying barn, constructed with oak beams from the property, housed various livestock and underwent several renovations over the years. After remaining in the Goll family for a century, the property was sold to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and transformed into Goll Woods State Nature Preserve. In 2005, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places due to its well-preserved architecture and historical importance. Ongoing restoration efforts aim to return the homestead to its original condition, making it a valuable site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American settlement and architecture.
