David S. Baker Estate

The David S. Baker Estate, also known as Cedar Spring Farm, is a historic site located in Wickford, North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Built around 1882 by prominent local lawyer David Sherman Baker, Jr., the estate features two distinct houses. The first, a modest Italianate structure at 51 Prospect Avenue, boasts an elaborate wrap-around veranda. The second, a grander 2+1⁄2 story house at 67 Prospect Avenue, known as the 'Big House,' showcases eclectic Second Empire style with a striking tower. This estate reflects the architectural trends of its time and the social prominence of the Baker family. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
