Miramar Yacht Club

The Miramar Yacht Club, established in 1926 in Havana, Cuba, was a prestigious private yacht and social club located along the coastline of Marianao. Known for its vibrant yacht racing history, the club produced notable sailors, including Alfonso Gomez-Mena, who won the Miami-to-Nassau ocean race in 1948, and Manuel Racso, who set a record in the St. Petersburg-to-Havana race in 1949. The club was also home to significant events like the 1950 Snipe Western Hemisphere Championship. However, following the Cuban revolution in 1961, the club was nationalized and renamed the Patricio Lumumba Club, marking the end of its era as a private yacht club.
