Miles Goodyear Cabin

The Miles Goodyear Cabin, located in Ogden, Utah, is a historic structure built in 1845 by trapper Miles Goodyear, marking the first permanent European settlement in the state. Constructed from sawn cottonwood logs, this cabin is the oldest non-Native American building in Utah. Originally part of Fort Buenaventura, which included a stockade and gardens, the cabin has a rich history, having been sold to Mormon settlers in 1847 and relocated multiple times over the years. It was officially recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971 and underwent significant refurbishment in the mid-1990s. Today, it stands as a testament to Utah's pioneer heritage and is a point of interest for both tourists and researchers alike.
