Eng Chuan Tong Tan Kongsi

Eng Chuan Tong Tan Kongsi is a historic Hokkien clan house located in George Town, Penang, Malaysia, founded in the early 19th century by the Tan family from Fujian, China. This ancestral temple is dedicated to Kai Zhang Sheng Wang, the founder of Zhangzhou, and serves as a cultural hub for the Tan clan. Recognized as one of the oldest clan houses in Penang, it features a rich history, including the establishment of Eng Chuan School in the early 1900s. The building, which underwent renovations in the late 1940s and 1990s, is situated at 28 Seh Tan Court and is a significant site for ancestral worship, particularly during Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
