Halden, Rolvenden

Halden is a historic manor house located in Rolvenden, Kent, England, known as Halden Place and recognized as a Grade II listed building. It was the ancestral home of the de Halden family until it passed to the Guldeford family through marriage. Sir John Guildford, a notable figure in the 15th century and Comptroller of the Household to King Edward IV, received royal permission to fortify the manor. The manor is also linked to Lady Jane Grey, the Nine Days' Queen, who resided there. Today, visitors can see the remnants of Halden Place, which includes a large farmhouse and notable stone carvings of the Guldeford arms on the stable-block.
