Hotel Metropole, Szczecin

The Hotel Metropole, once a prominent establishment in Szczecin, Poland, was built between 1900 and 1901 and featured 100 rooms, a swimming pool, and a restaurant. Located at the intersection of Holy Spirit Street and Podwale, it was one of the largest hotels in pre-war Szczecin. The building was characterized by its four-storey corner design, decorative façades, and a distinctive spire. Unfortunately, it was destroyed during World War II, and its ruins were later cleared, leaving the site as a temporary bus parking area. Notably, in January 1907, the hotel hosted Ida Altmann, a notable figure in the proletarian women's movement.
