Salvation Army Building (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)

The Salvation Army Building, located at 425–435 Boulevard of the Allies in Pittsburgh, is a historic structure built in 1924 and expanded in 1930 in the Late Gothic Revival style. Originally serving as the headquarters and a multi-purpose facility for the Salvation Army of Western Pennsylvania, it offered various services including a men's dormitory and the Evangeline Residence for Young Women. The building was recognized for its architectural significance and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. After the Salvation Army relocated in 2008, the building was transformed into the boutique Distrikt Hotel Pittsburgh in 2017, preserving its historical essence while providing modern accommodations for visitors.
