Fremont Troll

The Fremont Troll is a large public concrete sculpture installed in 1990 beneath the north end of the Aurora Bridge. Created by four local artists (Steve Badanes, Will Martin, Donna Walter, and Ross Whitehead), the troll clutches an actual Volkswagen Beetle in its hand and has become an iconic piece of Fremont's public art. The Troll was commissioned as part of a community effort to rehabilitate the under-bridge area and is a frequent subject of photography and local events.
