Kansas City Athenaeum

The Kansas City Athenaeum, established in 1914, is a historic building located in Kansas City, Missouri, recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979. Originally built for a women's organization founded in 1894, the Athenaeum Club House was financed through innovative fundraising efforts by its members, including selling homemade goods and hosting musical productions. The building features a ballroom with stained glass windows and multiple meeting rooms, serving as a hub for arts, literature, and community service for over a century. In 2015, it was sold to Delta Sigma Theta sorority, now known as the Delta Athenaeum, while the original members continue their philanthropic activities in the Kansas City area.
