Bost-Burris House

The Bost-Burris House, also known as the Elias Burris House, is a historic home located near Newton in Catawba County, North Carolina. Built around 1810, this two-story dwelling showcases a hall-and-parlor plan and features three bays with an exterior end stone chimney. The house includes a 1+1⁄2-story ell from the late 1860s and a one-story ell from the late 1890s. Visitors can appreciate the preserved Federal style design elements that reflect its original construction. The house was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture.
