Col. James Barrett Farm

The Col. James Barrett Farm, located in Concord, Massachusetts, is a significant historic site linked to the American Revolutionary War, particularly the battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775. This farm served as a crucial storage location for the town's militia gunpowder, weapons, and bronze cannons. On April 19, 1775, British troops attempted to seize these supplies but were met with resistance, and the stores were cleverly hidden before they arrived. Built in 1705, the farmhouse underwent extensive restoration and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. In 2009, it became part of the Minute Man National Historical Park, enhancing its accessibility for tourists and researchers interested in early American history.
