National Museum of Women in the Arts - museum focused on women artists

The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) opened to the public in 1987 and is the only major museum in the world solely dedicated to celebrating women artists. Its permanent collection and rotating exhibitions span from the 16th century to the present and include works by artists such as Mary Cassatt and Faith Ringgold. NMWA also runs educational programs and national initiatives to promote the study and recognition of women in the arts.
