Carrollton Manor

Carrollton Manor, a historic estate in Frederick County, Maryland, spans 17,000 acres and features the Federal-style manor house, Tuscarora, built around 1820. Although Charles Carroll of Carrollton, a prominent figure in American history, never resided there, the estate became notable for its agricultural innovations, including mills and lime kilns. The manor is linked to the 'three American graces,' daughters of Carroll's granddaughter, who married into British nobility. After various ownership changes and neglect, the manor was restored in the mid-20th century and now serves as a guest house and meeting center for Alcoa.
