Mudhafaria Minaret

The Mudhafaria Minaret, located in Minare Park in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, is a historical structure built between 1190 and 1233 CE by the Turkoman prince Muzaffar Al-Din Abu Sa’eed Al-Gawkaboori. Standing at 36 meters tall, this architectural marvel features a high octagonal base and a cylindrical shaft, showcasing typical Ayyubid design elements. The minaret is adorned with intricate decorations, including niches and Kufi calligraphy, and is believed to be the last remnant of a once-grand mosque.
