San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden (Sunken Garden/Japanese Tea Garden)

The San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden occupies a former limestone rock quarry in Brackenridge Park and features terraced stonework, arched stone bridges, a pond with koi, and a stone pagoda pavilion centered around a waterfall. The site was developed in the early 20th century and later landscaped in a Japanese style; it has become a distinctive horticultural and architectural landmark in the city. The garden is maintained by the City of San Antonio and is adjacent to the San Antonio Zoo and other park facilities.
