Madame Walker Theatre Center

The Madame Walker Theatre Center was constructed in 1927 as part of Madam C.J. Walker's complex and served as a cultural and commercial hub for Indianapolis's African-American community. The Renaissance Revival building has hosted performances, community events, and business offices and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It remains a center for arts and cultural programming focused on the legacy of Madam C.J. Walker and Black performing arts in Indianapolis.
