Dennis Chavez Federal Building

The Dennis Chavez Federal Building is a prominent high-rise located in Downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, completed in 1965. Originally serving as a courthouse and federal office space, it houses various federal agencies and is notable for its striking polished granite facade and New Mexico marble lobby. Named after U.S. Senator Dennis Chavez in 1976, the building stands at 197 feet tall with 13 floors and is currently the seventh-tallest in Albuquerque. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2023, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in architecture and local history.
