Isaac Jenkins Mikell House

The Isaac Jenkins Mikell House is a stunning example of Roman Revival architecture located in South Carolina, built between 1853 and 1854 by cotton planter Isaac Jenkins Mikell for his wife. This grand residence features a striking southern facade with a pedimented portico supported by six ornate columns. The property includes a kitchen building and a coach house, along with historical slave quarters. After serving as a public library for several decades, the house was restored as a private residence and gained fame through its association with the reality show Southern Charm. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in Southern history and architecture.
