Rocky steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art

The front steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art were featured in the 1976 film Rocky during the training montage in which the fictional boxer Rocky Balboa runs up the steps. The scene turned the steps into an enduring symbol of Philadelphia sports culture and a popular tourist destination. A bronze 'Rocky' statue was first placed near the museum steps in 1980 and has been moved between locations near the museum since then.
