Twelfth Street Meeting House

The Twelfth Street Meeting House, originally built in Philadelphia between 1812 and 1813, is a significant Quaker meeting house that reflects over 200 years of Quaker history. It features architectural elements from the earlier Greater Meeting House, constructed in 1755. After being relocated to Newtown, Bucks County in 1972, it now serves as the meeting house for George School. The building has historical importance not only for its architectural design but also for its role in the formation of the American Friends Service Committee during World War I, which advocates for peace and social justice.
