Blackburne House

Blackburne House is an 18th-century Grade II listed building in Liverpool, England, originally built in 1788 as a private residence for wealthy salt refiner John Blackburne. It later became the first girls' school in Liverpool, established by abolitionist George Holt in 1844, promoting women's education. The building features distinctive architecture with brick construction, stone dressings, and a prominent domical roof. After serving as a school until 1986, it was repurposed in 1994 as a training and resource center for women, making it a significant site for both historical and contemporary educational initiatives.
