Texas State Capitol (Sunset Red Granite)

The Texas State Capitol was designed by architect Elijah E. Myers and constructed between 1882 and 1888. It was built from Sunset Red granite quarried at Granite Mountain near Marble Falls. At approximately 308 feet tall, the building is taller than the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
